Non-Account Customers
All new customers, as well as those returning after a lapse, will need to visit one of our depots and present two forms of identification:

One item must include a photograph.

The second must be an official document showing the same address as the photo ID.
(Examples of suitable documents include a UK driving licence, passport, recent bank statement or utility bill. Both pieces of Identification must show your full name and address)

Deliveries & Collections
We usually deliver and collect equipment from the address registered on your customer ID.
If you need delivery to an alternative location, we’ll just need confirmation from you — either in person or via email.
Please note that equipment will not be left unattended. A signature is required on delivery or collection, and we may also take photos of the handover, including the customer’s representative, as proof of delivery or collection.
Collections can only be arranged once you have notified us that the equipment is ready to be picked up, at which point an off-hire number will be issued. Off-hires cannot be pre-booked unless you have been specifically advised otherwise by our hire desk team.
Equipment will not be considered off-hire until all items have been collected and checked back into our depot. All hired goods remain the customer’s responsibility until they are fully collected by our team.

Damage Waivers
We provide two types of Damage Waiver options to give you extra peace of mind when hiring equipment. Our Standard Damage Waiver is charged at 7.5%, and we also offer an optional Hire Secure Loss & Damage Waiver for selected larger items.

STANDARD 7.5% DAMAGE WAIVER OVERVIEW
Benefits of the Damage Waiver for Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd Customers
The standard damage waiver offers significant benefits to Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd customers renting equipment:
- Peace of Mind: Customers can rent equipment with the assurance that they are protected from large repair or replacement costs for accidental damage.
- Affordable Protection: For a small additional fee of just 7% of the hire rate, customers reduce their financial risk during the rental period.
- Convenience: The waiver simplifies the rental process for non-account customers by ensuring that they are automatically covered, eliminating the need for external arrangements.
- Reduced Liability: Even though an excess applies, the damage waiver limits the customer's overall financial responsibility compared to covering full repair or replacement costs.
What the Damage Waiver Is Not!!
It's important to understand that the damage waiver is not insurance.
Unlike insurance:
- It is a contractual agreement between Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd and the customer.
- It does not involve third-party providers or claims outside the hire contract.
What the Damage Waiver Covers:
- Accidental Damage: Covers costs for accidental damage to equipment during the hire period. Wear and tear due to long term or regular usage.
What the Damage Waiver Does Not Cover:
- Theft of Loss: Customers remain responsible for stolen or lost items, which are not included in the waiver.
- Negligence or Misuse: Damage resulting from improper use, carelessness, or failure to follow operational guidelines is not covered.
- Excess Charges: Customers are still required to pay an excess amount based on the cost of damages upon return.
Costs and Conditions:
- The damage waiver currently charged at 7.5% of the hire rate and is automatically added at the start of the hire to the final bill for ALL non-account customers.
- If a claim is accepted then excess charges will apply, depending on the extent of damage to the equipment and the costs involved.
- Credit Account holders may opt of the Waiver - conditions apply. Ask in store for details.
EXCESS CHARGES MAY APPLY
• Failure to conduct routine maintenance, such as lack of engine oil, neat petrol in a 2-stroke machine, etc.
• Loss or damage to consumable items, e.g. bits, blades and discs.
• Breakdown.
• Damage by wear, tear or depreciation
• Damage by fraud or dishonesty.

HIRE SECURE LOSS / DAMAGE WAIVER COVER OVERVIEW
Benefits of the HIRE SECURE LOSS / DAMAGE WAIVER for Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd Customers
A charge of only 17.5% of the hire rate will offer "cover" against LOSS/THEFT or ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE. This applies only to the equipment listed below and all other items are covered by our Standard Damage Waiver cover.
This damage waiver offers significant benefits to Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd customers renting equipment:
- Peace of Mind: Customers can rent equipment with the assurance that they are protected from large repair or replacement costs for accidental damage or even loss.
- Affordable Protection: For a small additional fee of just 17.5% of the hire rate, customers reduce their financial risk during the rental period.
- Reduced Liability: Even though an excess applies, the damage waiver limits the customer’s overall financial responsibility compared to covering full repair or replacement costs. Maximum Excess £500*
- Convenience: The waiver simplifies the rental process for non-account customers by ensuring that they are automatically covered, upon receipt of the signed agreement, eliminating the need for external arrangements.
- Cover without impacting own Insurance: Reduced excess charges, prompt settlement of any claim and no increase to own insurance if claim arises.
- Flexibility: Ability to select or reject cover for each hire depending on site requirements or conditions (must be in advance of hire commencement).

The Agreement; see copy for all terms and conditions
An agreement is made between Hodgson Tool Hire and the customer to arrange to vary the Waiver Agreement under which you are relieved of your responsibility to us for the loss of or damage to plant hired to you. The Waiver is based on standard hire industry terms and conditions, for hiring goods.
This must be arranged before any hire and is valid for each individual hire contract and only when a signed receipt of the terms / conditions is received by Hodgson Tool Hire.
